KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Getting engaged is one of life's big 'moments' and for a couple in Missouri it's a moment they'll never forget.
Seth Dixon and Ruth Salas have been dating for four years, and recently, Dixon decided it was time to pop the question. So as KMBC reports, he took his bride-to-be to their favorite spot in their hometown in Kansas City, Missouri, "I knew it was good spot for us." A friend had joined the couple for dinner and started taking video before Dixon got down on one knee, on a bridge.
As many proposal videos do, this couple's went viral -- but for all the wrong reasons. As Salas realizes Dixon is proposing, she gasps, puts her hands over her mouth, waiting to get a look at the ring. But, as Dixon pulls the jewelry out, it unfortunately slips from his hands, and falls through the boards in the bridge. "That face. I was just completely shocked," Dixon says, Salas also can't believe her eyes, looking over the bridge to see where the ring had gone, "I heard the plop of the ring and I'm like, oh no," she says.
The couple's friend, who was taking the video has set up a GoFundMe page for the couple, to help them buy a new ring. So far, it's raised more than $200.
